- Only disclose information in good faith
- Believe it to be substantially true
- Not act maliciously or make false allegations
- Must not seek any personal gain
- State whether they wish to be contacted or would like to remain anonymous
- State whether they agree to be contacted so that any further details can be taken and the complaint dealt with thoroughly
